MacMetric is a local-first app. Your system data never leaves your Mac.

What MacMetric reads

System counters and process metadata on your Mac: CPU, memory, GPU, disk, network totals, battery, thermals, and process and app names, PIDs, ports and resource use. History (1-minute aggregates, alerts and sessions) is stored in a SQLite file in your user Library folder.

What leaves your Mac

No metrics, application names, process names, file paths or history are ever sent anywhere. There are no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry in the app. The only network activity is:

Bug and crash reports

Reports are only created when you choose Help → Report a Bug… or press Email Report… after a crash. They open as a draft email to [email protected] containing the app version, macOS version, Mac model and (for crashes) a short crash summary with your user name and home folder removed. Nothing is sent until you press Send in your mail app. MacMetric never reports to Apple.

Free version and license

MacMetric is free to use with Overview, CPU and Memory. A purchased license key unlocks every page. Your key is stored in your Mac's Keychain and verified offline on your device.

Purchases

Purchases are sold and processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which handles payment, tax and invoicing. MacMetric never sees or stores your card details. We receive your email address and order number to issue your license key and to support you. Our licensing service stores the order number, email and key.

Waitlist

If you give your email to be told when purchase opens, we store it only for that announcement and delete it on request.

This website

This site has no cookies, trackers or analytics scripts. As with any web server, standard request logs (IP address, user agent, page) are kept briefly to run the service and to count downloads.

Your control

Settings → Delete all history removes metrics, alerts and sessions. Email [email protected] to have your order or waitlist record deleted.
